This should prove that the War of Northern Aggression was not about slavery. It was about a sovereign nation that was attacked by their neighbors to the north. The black Confederate soldiers were not fighting to remain enslaved, nor were they forced to participate. The CSA was their country too, and the free blacks had as much to lose in the invasion as did their white counterparts.
