Scenes Of The Lives Of Freedom Fighters During The War Of Northern Aggression

Racism, Confederate Flag, Double Standards And Hypocrisy

Does anyone else find it interesting that a politically correct (racist?) organization like the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) never misses an opportunity to protest the flying of the Confederate flag in spite of the fact that many of their ancestors fought to defend it?
Yet they do not protest on the 4th of July. After all, independence was won from England by white slave owners that seceded from their oppressive government and their rebel flag was the Stars and Stripes. If the men of 1776 cannot be called rebels and slave holding traitors, than neither can the men of 1861 that fought under the Confederate Battle flag for the very same reasons.

Desecration

“To me, the campaign by certain groups to remove all the symbols and memorials to our Southern past amounts to the same thing…a desecration of graves. Every flag or monument that is removed, every plaque taken down, every school or street or bridge that is renamed, is no different from a broken tombstone. It is wanton and hateful violence directed at the dead who can no longer defend themselves.”

Scenes Of Life In Dixie

Let My People Go

Did states have a right to secede? At the 1787 Constitutional Convention, James Madison rejected a proposal that would allow the federal government to suppress a seceding state. He said, "A Union of the States containing such an ingredient seemed to provide for its own destruction. The use of force against a State would look more like a declaration of war than an infliction of punishment and would probably be considered by the party attacked as a dissolution of all previous compacts by which it might be bound."
